You Can Be The Kind

of Parent You

Want To Be

(Even if you have teenagers…)

Without Conscious Effort, Our Parenting Methods Can

Create Conflict Instead of Connection

The authoritarian way most of us have been taught to parent creates conflict and frustration, endless power struggles, and leaves us with broken and distant relationships with our kids.

Especially as they enter their teenage years, these issues can increase and many of us find ourselves even further away from where we want to be in our relationships with our kids.

When we parent our kids without working through our own history, many of us are destined to repeat painful patterns we ourselves experienced as children, no matter how bad we want it to be different. Or we may find ourselves going so far in the opposite direction of how we were parented that things are thrown off balance and bring problems we have no idea how to fix.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Trust

Create a deeper relationship with your kids based on mutual trust, genuine connection, and collaboration

Peace

Move beyond endless power struggles so you can experience peace, harmony, and understanding with your kids

Healing

Heal wounds from your own childhood so they don’t unconsciously influence your parenting and impact your kids

It’s Never Too Late to

Turn Things Around

No matter what your relationship with your kids looks like right now, there is hope.

It can be hard to believe depending on where things are. But there is truly another way. (And it’s not as far off as you may think.)

None of us start off as parents knowing what to do. We create plans, try to be the parents we want to be, and watch as our idealistic imaginings get run over by the reality of daily life and the immense pressures of caring for our kids.

I’m Désirée Ferrari and I became a parenting coach because having a parenting coach myself many years ago saved me from the distant, conflict-filled, constantly stressful relationship I had with my son.

Before I worked with a coach, I wondered if we would ever speak again once he moved out. That wasn’t at all what I wanted...no parent does...but nothing I tried had worked, and I was completely at a loss.

I was so amazed by what I learned and the shifts that we experienced in our relationship that I became passionate about doing this work with other parents.

I believe all children deserve to be guided and loved by the best version each of us have to offer as parents. And I believe all parents deserve the opportunity to be supported in this work, without judgment.

What Clients are Saying

Here at Parenting

with Désirée...

We know that you want to be a loving, peaceful parent that has a meaningful connection with your kids.

In order to do that you need to find a way to reimagine and reestablish a different kind of relationship with your kids.

The problem is the traditional ‘power-over’ model of parenting isn’t working, which makes you feel like you’re going to spend the rest of your life struggling with your kids and continue to feel like you’re just not doing a good job as a parent.

I believe that the real issue is that we’re not taught how to be the kind of parents most of us long to be, so we end up slipping into the patterns that were ingrained in us in our own childhoods.

We’re also not taught that it’s okay to seek support in our parenting, which is often the only way we can make the changes we need to make to have the kind of family life we long for.

I understand how hard it is to ask for help as a parent...
